Extending eight miles down the Laxey Valley from Snaefell summit to Laxey harbour wall, the Laxey Valley Heritage trail offers a diverse range of places and activities for all as you explore the wonders and history of our beautiful location. As you journey through the valley you can enjoy the Snaefell mountain and Great Laxey Mine Railways, Lady Isabella and Lady Evelyn water wheels (Laxey Wheel to its friends) along with the Victorian pleasure garden and hand weaving woollen mill there is much to entertain and learn within the beautiful landscape. Mountain walks and a day at the beach for a more relaxing experience are also available together with an abundance of local food from the delightful restaurants and beach cafes.\
Our Mission
The team at Visit Laxey Valley are passionate about the preservation of wonderful heritage and landscape. Together with the education of all about our industrial heritage and history, natural sciences, landscape and the environment in which we live.
Planning your visit
Head to our welcome centre to start your journey and meet come of our volunteers who will help to plan your day and show you our introductory video which will provide you with some history and a highlight of some of the places to visit.
Welcome Centre
Christ Church is home to our welcome centre and can be found just 1min walk from Laxey (MER) Station and is open daily.
